At The Hybrid Group Inc, we self perform the most important structural parts of each home or commercial building, insuring that the most critical elements are not overlooked. We are constantly researching and refining our building methods in order to bring you a higher quality, longer lasting, and more efficient building.
The Owners, Skipper Smotherman and Jon Mitchell have over 55 years of combined experience in all phases of commercial and residential construction. Skipper has been a Tennessee Licensed Contractor since 1993, and has built all types of homes and commercial buildings. Jon is an expert at steel framing and commercial buildout, and has completed some of the areas most challenging projects.
After twelve years of partnering on both large and small projects, these two experienced Contractors formally joined forces as The Hybrid Group, Inc in 2014 with the stated goal of becoming Middle Tennessee’s premier Energy Efficient design/build contractor.
Skipper personally completed his first ICF install on a home he was building in February of 2000. Since 2009 Jon and Skipper have been refining their skills on energy efficient buildings with a strong focus on ICF construction.
As a TN Licensed General Contractor, The Hybrid Group, Inc builds custom homes and commercial buildings, but also performs ICF installation for many other Contractors. These can range from a small tornado shelter in a framed house to all the walls of a large commercial building.
In 2015 The Hybrid Group Inc. started a crew to install large commercial ICF projects. That same year they completed over forty thousand square feet of ICF walls on a public school in Kentucky. (Click Here to view our Gallery)
Are ICF Homes expensive?
Though ICF homes are more expensive to build than a common “stick framed” home, the long term cost of ownership will be much lower. With a Hybrid Group, Inc ICF Home your average monthly heating and cooling costs will typically be at least 50% less than a normal stick built house.
